The Raiders will be a team that is on the rise.
It will be hard to imagine this team being on the bottom of the league, but with the talent on the roster, it should be a top-tier franchise.
The coaching staff is made up of four new assistants: John Lynch, the former Raiders defensive coordinator, who was hired by the Dolphins after the season.
They’ve brought in Joe Ellis, who had been an offensive coordinator with the Falcons, and Dan Reeves, who coached the Patriots’ defense for seven seasons.
The Raiders also have former defensive backs coach Mike Thomas, who helped the Raiders win a Super Bowl with the Colts.
Thomas has been a coordinator for the Raiders since 2014.
The biggest name from that staff is head coach Dennis Allen.
Allen has won two Super Bowls and was named to the Pro Bowl last season, which is a record.
The 49ers, who have had a long run of success, hired a coach who has been with the franchise since 1998, Bruce Arians.
Arians is now the head coach of the Cardinals, which will be the second team Arians has coached since retiring.
Arias was hired in 2017 by the Jaguars, who are the only team in the NFL with a winning record since he took over for the fired Mike Munchak.
He had won two AFC South titles and a playoff game in the last three seasons.
Allen and Arians were the only coaches to lead their teams to Super Bowl appearances in the latter part of the 20th century.
Allen was named the NFL’s Coach of the Year for 2016 after guiding the Jaguars to the Super Bowl.
He won the AFC West in 2017 with Jacksonville.
The Rams were one of the teams to get Arians in.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Arians, 49ers coach Sean McVay, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone, Raiders head coach Anthony Lynn and Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson were all named to his coaching staff.
Allen is expected to be in a similar position to the Raiders.
He is expected on his way out of the NFL, but he is expected that his players will follow him.
Allen coached the Broncos for the last two seasons and was an assistant with the Jaguars from 2004 to 2010.
He was also the offensive coordinator for Tom Coughlin in 2012 and was the coordinator of the Titans from 2009 to 2011.
He has a long history with the Raiders, having coached them in the 1970s and the 1980s.
He also coached the Colts for six seasons.
Arianes had a winning percentage of .532 with the Cardinals from 1999 to 2006.
He led the Broncos to two AFC titles and the Super Bowls in his first two seasons.
He went on to be an assistant coach for the Patriots from 2000 to 2007 and was a head coach for two seasons with the Steelers.
He retired after the 2007 season.
The Chargers are one of a few teams to be a part of a dynasty in the AFC, having won five AFC West titles in a row since 1995.
Owner Dean Spanos has made it a priority to make a team a playoff contender and has made major moves in the front office, adding former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, former Chargers assistant John Pagano and former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
The team has a $10 million cap number and has a salary cap of $60 million for the 2019 season.
If they make the playoffs, they’ll have $34.9 million in cap space.
If the Raiders are to make the postseason, they will have $50.9 in cap room.
If Spanos doesn’t get his team into the playoffs in 2019, he would have to trade the franchise quarterback for a veteran starter, and that could be a difficult thing to do.
Allen won three Super Bowl titles in Denver, and he also had an eight-year run in New England under Belichick.
The Broncos won two NFC championships and a Super Football Championship in Denver.
He coached the Chargers from 2003 to 2007.
Allen’s offense was known for its explosive plays and deep passing.
Allen also won three NFL titles as a coach with the Titans.
He guided the Patriots to two Super Bests, and his teams were a playoff team four times.
The Jaguars hired Allen in 2015, after his two seasons in New York.
The franchise had a 14-year playoff drought, and Allen won the Superdome in 2016.
The last time the Jaguars made the playoffs was in 2010.
Allen led the Raiders to a Superbowl appearance in 2014.
He spent the last seven seasons with Tennessee.
Allen played for the Steelers and Ravens, and in his two years in Oakland, he was the offensive line coach and running backs coach.
He earned a reputation as a quick study.
He learned the game quickly, but his success came with consistency.
He worked with Hall of Famers, including Jim Kelly and Paul Hornung.
He made the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.
