Michael Stone was injured Thursday night in a collision with the Rangers defenseman on the ice.
He is expected to be out for two to four weeks.
The injury occurred around 7:10 p.m.
The Rangers were down 1-0.
Stone was hurt when he skated towards the goal line.
He was later removed from the game.
He has seven points (one goal, four assists) in seven games.
The Coyotes will have to decide whether to make Stone a healthy scratch or if he needs surgery.
Stone is coming off a strong rookie campaign with 21 goals and 35 points in 65 games.
Coyotes forward Mikkel Boedker (left knee surgery) was recalled from the Texas Stars on Friday and will play Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers.
Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith (lower body injury) is questionable.
